In Peninsula Youth Theatre’s one-week programs, campers can learn the basics of storytelling, show off their singing and dancing skills, or explore different kids of performance such as improvisation, sketch comedy, and puppetry. There’s something for everyone!

Ages: 6-12

Scripted Camps

In this one-week version of our award-winning “Theatre in the Park” program, campers will learn the basics of storytelling while having fun rehearsing a collection of stories. Actors will perform at 6:30pm on the evening of their final day of camp.

The Brementown Musicians
Ages 6-8
June 10 – June 14
Location: Loyola, performs on the Loyola Outdoor Stage June 14 @ 6:30pm
Four aging farm animals – a donkey, a dog, a cat, and a rooster – leave their farms to become musicians in Bremen and enjoy life. However, they find a den of thieves and decide to outsmart them. Will the farm animals be able to escape the thieves? Will they ever make it to Bremen?

Fairytale Forest
Ages 9-12
June 10 – June 14
Location: PYT, performs at site TBA June 14 @ 6:30pm
A magical trip through a strange forest proves that some things never change. A hysterical mystery adventure featuring characters from some beloved characters such as Dorothy, Snow White, and even some less beloved characters like Cruella DeVille!

The Ants and the Grasshopper
Ages 6-8
June 17 – June 21 (no camp June 19)
Location: PYT, performs at site TBA June 21 @ 6:30pm
After returning home from a world tour, a hungry young grasshopper realizes that he has no food at home for the winter. When the grasshopper notices that the ants have been storing supplies for the winter, he decides to ask if they have any food to spare. Will the ants help him, or will they turn the grasshopper away?

Witches, Britches, Rings ‘n Things
Ages 9-12
July 15 – July 19
Location: Loyola, performs in the Loyola Multipurpose Room July 19 @ 6:30pm
A group of quirky witches celebrate their retirement by reminiscing about their many famous adventures.

The Tale of Jemima Puddleduck
Ages 6-8

Jemima Puddleduck wants to hatch her eggs, but she can’t keep them on the farm, so she seeks out a nesting place in the forest. When a charming gentlemanly fox talks her into nesting at his home on a mysteriously able supply of feathers, she excitedly agrees, but something doesn’t seem right. Can Jemima trust the fox, or is he trying to trick her?

My Father’s Dragon
Ages 8-12
July 22 – July 26
Location: Loyola, performs on the Loyola Outdoor Stage July 26 @ 6:30pm
When Elmer Elevator hears about a mysterious dragon on the Island of Tangerina, he packs his bags in the hopes of finding the dragon. But the journey is not as easy as it seems.

Musical Theatre Camps at Congregation Beth Am

In these one-week camps, campers will show off their singing and dancing skills and develop their vocal technique while preparing a collection of songs and a short written script for their final performance. The final performance takes place at 3pm on-site on the final day of camp.

Give My Regards to Broadway
Ages 6-8

In this session, students will put together a show centered around songs from hit Broadway Musicals! Songs include “Ya Got Trouble” from The Music Man, “Don’t Rain on My Parade” from Funny Girl,  and “There’s No Business Like Show Business” from Annie Get Your Gun.

Disney on Broadway
Ages 9-12
June 17 – June 21 (no camp June 19)
In this session, students will put together a show centered around songs from some of Disney’s hit Broadway Musicals! Songs include “She’s in Love” from The Little Mermaid, “Seize the Day” from Newsies, “Hakuna Matata” from The Lion King and “Strangers Like Me” from Tarzan.

Disney Favorites
Ages 6-8
June 24 – June 28
In this session, students will put together a show centered around songs from some Disney favorites! Songs include “I’ll Make a Man Out of You” from Mulan, “For the First Time in Forever” from Frozen, and “A Whole New World” from Aladdin.

Rodgers and Hammerstein Musicals
Ages 9-12
July 1 – July 5 (no camp July 4)
In this session, students will put together a show centered around songs from some of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s most beloved musicals! Songs include “I Have Confidence” from The Sound of Music, “Oh, What a Beautiful Morning” from Oklahoma!, “The Prince is Giving a Ball” from Cinderella, and “Getting to Know You” from The King and I.

Roald Dahl Musicals
Ages 6-8
July 8 – July 12
In this session, students will put together a show centered around songs from Roald Dahl Musicals! Songs include “(I’ve Got a) Golden Ticket” from Willy Wonka, “Shake it Up” from James and the Giant Peach, and “Revolting Children” from Matilda.

Popstars
Ages 9-12
July 15 – July 19
In this session, campers will put together a show centered around songs from some of today’s most famous pop stars! Songs include “Heaven” by Niall Horan, “Dance the Night” by Dua Lipa, “Anti-Hero” by Taylor Swift, and “Waffle House” by the Jonas Brothers. (Note: The Kidz Bop versions of these songs are used.)

Disney Sidekicks
Ages 6-8
July 22 – July 26
In this session, campers will put together a show centered around some of the most fun songs from Disney’s sidekicks! Songs include “Zero to Hero” from Hercules, “Human Again” from Beauty and the Beast, and “The Bare Necessities” from The Jungle Book.

Disney Channel Original Musicals
Ages 9-12
July 29 – August 2
In this session, students will put together a show centered around songs from some of Disney’s most popular original movie musicals! Songs include “We’re All in This Together” from High School Musical, “Break This Down” from The Descendants, “Cruisin’ for a Bruisin’” from Teen Beach Movie, and “This is Me” from Camp Rock.

Disney Classics
Ages 6-8
August 5 – August 9
In this session, students will put together a show centered around songs from some of Disney’s most well-known classic films! Songs include “You Can Fly” from
Peter Pan, “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes” from Cinderella, and “I’ve Got No Strings” from Pinocchio.

Topic-Focused Camps

Final performances using developed skills will be held at 3pm on-site on the final day of camp.
