Judy Robe & Spirit Awards

It has long been a tradition on Broadway to pass along a robe from show to show to honor the member of the ensemble who has been in the most productions. PYT’s tradition has been to pass a robe to member of the ensemble who best embodies PYT’s values of teamwork, responsibility and positivity. PYT’s board and staff renamed this award in honor of long-term board member and volunteer Judy Meyer. Over the hundreds of productions Judy has volunteered for she has personified these values, and served as an excellent role-model for thousands of PYT performers.

The production staff considers attitude, improvement and dedication in selecting the recipient, who dons the robe and circles around the cast for good luck before curtain. Later, the recipient attaches a memento, and presents the robe to his or her successor.
