A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court

January 22-23, 2027

Auditions: September 3, 2026

Performances: January 22–23, 2027 at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts SecondStage

A modern kid on a castle tour gets accidentally transported to the court of King Arthur, and her cell phone definitely does not have service. Based on Mark Twain’s classic, this fun retelling is full of laughs as our hero navigates courtly manners and medieval sensibilities to find her way back home.

Based on the book by Mark Twain

Audition to be part of PYT’s “Stories on Stage” repertory company for our 2026-2027 season productions. Stories on Stage is an accelerated acting program for grades 6-12.

Auditions will be held in person at PYT Studios on Sunday, September 3. Prepare a 1 minute comic monologue. Those auditioning in person may also be asked to participate in improv games and cold readings.

Rehearsals will be held Tuesdays and Sundays from 6:30-9:00pm at the PYT Studios. Performances will be on the SecondStage of the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts.

Each show is a limited cast opportunity, but actors are eligible to be cast in any production for which they are available based upon a conflict calendar submitted prior to auditions. Generally, up to 2 conflict dates for a production are allowed to be eligible for casting for that production. However, any conflicts for SOS make a big impact due to small cast sizes and limited rehearsal time.

As part of PYT’s community outreach, we present special weekday morning performances of our productions for school groups in the area. Each SOS show will be performed at 9:30am, 11am and a tentative 12:30pm overflow performance on the Friday morning of the performance weekend. Cast members should be prepared to miss school to perform.

The Stories on Stage participation fee is $300 per production. If you register by July 31st, you will receive a $25 discount on your initial registration. If you are cast in multiple productions, you will be billed $300/production for additional shows.
