Join PYT for our FREE Theatre in the Park performances all summer long!

Each of our camp sessions culminates in a performance that includes characters, sets, props, and costumes all created and designed by our campers. Bring chairs, a blanket, and/or a picnic and fill your Friday afternoons & evenings with some live theater!

The Snow Queen

Pioneer Memorial Park
Join Gerda as she travels through the winter snow to save her friend Kai from the clutches of the Snow Queen. Find out if Gerda can melt the Snow Queen’s heart in this exciting play based on the same Hans Christian Andersen fairytale that inspired the movie “Frozen.”

Hoping to appear more powerful in the eyes of the King, a poor miller tells the King that his daughter has a gift and can spin straw into gold. Upon hearing this, the King locks up the miller’s daughter so that no one in the land can use her gifts aside from him. In truth, a small, peculiar man named Rumpelstiltskin spins the straw. The miller’s daughter promises him her firstborn child if he will spin the straw for her. Will the King find out the truth? Will the miller’s daughter keep her promise?

The Adventures of Pinocchio

Pinocchio has always wanted to be a real boy, and when he meets a fairy promising to grant his wish if he can prove he deserves to become a real boy, he can’t resist. But will becoming a real boy be everything that he hoped it would be?

The Ants and the Grasshopper

After returning home from a world tour, a hungry young grasshopper realizes that he has no food at home for the winter. When the grasshopper notices that the ants have been storing supplies for the winter, he decides to ask if they have any food to spare. Will the ants help him, or will they turn the grasshopper away?

What will happen when mischievous and disobedient young Peter Rabbit sneaks into Mr. McGregor’s garden?

The Sea Fairies

One day while walking along the beach with her friend Cap’n Bill, Mayre “Trot” Griffiths expresses her wish to see a mermaid. Upon hearing her, the nearby mermaids grant her wish, explaining to her that the “sea fairies” offer her a chance to experience their world. The Sea Fairies then take Mayre and Cap’n Bill on adventures under the sea that they never would have imagined.

Aesop’s Fables

When a group of friends find an old fable book, the last thing they expect is for the characters to come to life! What will they do when Aesop and his fables come out of the book?

The Wizard of… Oz?

Isadora Thatcher doesn’t care much for school – she’d rather be daydreaming about piloting 747s. But when she lays down for a nap one afternoon, she will awake to find herself in a strange land that will challenge everything she thought she knew. This modern adaptation of the classic story will keep you guessing and remind you that there’s no place like home.

The Pied Piper

When the town of Hamelin suddenly finds themselves with a rat infestation problem, they call on the Pied Piper to spirit them away with music. However, when the town refuses to pay the Pied Piper for his services, he uses his musical magic to wreak havoc on Hamelin.

The Adventures of Chatterer the Red Squirrel

When Shadow the Weasel returns to the Green Forest, Chatterer the Squirrel must rethink the location of his home. Chatterer sets off on a new adventure, but the change brings on all sorts of surprises that he never could’ve expected!

The Reluctant Dragon

When a group of young children discover a gentle, poetry-loving dragon in the hills near their village, will they be able to convince the townsfolk that the dragon is nothing to be afraid of?

Puss in Boots

When a young man inherits nothing from his late father apart from a cat, the talking cat tells the young man that he is better off than he thinks he is. The cat then sets out to make the young man’s fortune.

Witches, Britches, Rings ‘n Things

A group of quirky witches celebrate their retirement by reminiscing about their many famous adventures.

Through the Looking Glass

Join Alice as she falls through the looking glass once again. What adventures will Alice find herself in this time?

The Princess and the Pea

One night after getting lost in the woods, a princess stumbles upon a castle and asks for shelter. The Queen, however, is not convinced that this raggedy looking girl is actually a princess from a neighboring country, the Queen insists that she complete a series of tasks to prove herself. Is this girl truly who she says she is?

The Country Mouse and the City Mouse

Cousins Milty and Regina couldn’t be more different. Milty Mouse lives a simple life in the country, whereas Regina Mouse lives a luxurious life in the city. When an invitation to visit her in the country arrives, Regina goes to visit Milty and is shocked to see how different their lives are. Wanting to give her cousin a taste of life in the city, they head to Regina’s home where Milty is awestruck. Will Milty decide to stay in the city with Regina? Or will she go back to her simple country lifestyle?

The Tale of Jemima Puddleduck

Jemima Puddleduck wants to hatch her eggs, but she can’t keep them on the farm, so she seeks out a nesting place in the forest. When a charming gentlemanly fox talks her into nesting at his home on a mysteriously able supply of feathers, she excitedly agrees, but something doesn’t seem right. Can Jemima trust the fox, or is he trying to trick her?

My Father’s Dragon

When Elmer Elevator hears about a mysterious dragon on the Island of Tangerina, he packs his bags in the hopes of finding the dragon. But the journey is not as easy as it seems.
