Winter Camp

 

Bring a bit of PYT’s summer camps to your winter holiday break by joining us for 7 days of theatre camp for ages 8-12! Each day, we’ll explore a different aspect of theatre and delve in with exercises, games, activities, projects, and discussion. There will be a performance for friends and family at 3:00PM each day of camp featuring skills that campers learned that day.

Times: 8:30 AM-3:30 PM (structured camp activities begin at 9AM)

Activity Schedule

Thursday, December 26: Improv (Day 1)
Actors will work together to develop quick thinking, adaptability, comic timing, teamwork, and other performance skills as they learn improv games and activities. Students will prepare a final performance of their favorite improv games for friends and family to attend at 3:00.

Friday, December 27: Play in a Day (Fairytales)
Actors will work together to prepare a short fairytale script for a performance in just one day! The final performance will be presented for family and friends to attend at 3:00.

Monday, December 30: Musical Theatre (Disney)
Young performers learn to sing, dance and tell a story in the grand old Disney-on-Broadway tradition. Students will learn how to isolate body movement and express character and emotion through physicality. Students will perform two choreographed songs for their friends and family at 3:00.

Tuesday, December 31: Sketch Comedy
Actors will work with their teachers to create their own short sketch comedy scenes. They’ll work on scene building, characterization, physicality and more as they create their sketches. Actors will present their original material to family and friends at 3:00.

Wednesday, January 1: Musical Theatre (Broadway)
Young performers learn to sing, dance and tell a story in the grand old Broadway tradition. Students will learn how to isolate body movement and express character and emotion through physicality. Students will perform two choreographed songs for their friends and family at 3:00.

Thursday, January 2: Play in a Day (Fables)
Actors will work together to prepare a short fables script for a performance in just one day! The final performance will be presented for family and friends to attend at 3:00 pm.

Cancellations and Transfers

A refund less a cancellation fee will be given if written notice is received to caitlyn@pytnet.org at least two weeks prior to your child’s first day of camp. The cancellation fee is $20 for camps under $150 and $50 for camps over $150. We cannot provide a refund for cancellations made less than two weeks prior to the start of your camp. Transfer requests are subject to availability and will be charged a $25 transfer fee.
