Peninsula Youth Theatre’s award-winning two-week summer camps will help your young thespian learn all about what goes into a show. Campers not only act, but also design and construct the sets, props, and costumes. With an emphasis on teamwork and collaboration, your student will have a blast! Final performances occur on the last day of each camp session and are open to the public.

The Farmer and the Donkeys
Ages 6-8

The Farmer has everything on his farm that he needs – chickens, cows, goats, and pigs – but the animal that he’s always so desperately wanted is a donkey. When he goes to the market and sees two merchants seeing their donkeys, he’s thrilled. But what happens when he takes the donkeys home and they aren’t as excited to be on the farm as he is?

The Little Mermaid
Ages 9-12

Living under the sea isn’t enough for the Little Mermaid, who longs to live on land.

Grimm’s Fairytales

When two kids find a book of Grimm’s Fairytales and start to read the stories out loud, they’re shocked to suddenly find themselves in a world of Grimm’s creation. What will happen when they’re in Grimm’s Fairytales, and how will they get home?

The Elves and the Shoemaker
Ages 9-12

Elves have a long, proud tradition of helping humankind. When four Elves are sent to help a poor shoemaker, can they turn his luck around?

Fun with Fables
Ages 6-8

A collection of fables including The Fox and the Goat, The Bees & Wasps & the Hornet, and The Goose & the Golden Egg.

The Lions and the Mice

The Lions and the Mice have had a long standing family feud and do their best to steer clear of each other in the jungle. When a group of hunters make their way to their home, can the lions and the mice set aside their differences and help each other?

The Ants and the Grasshopper
Ages 6-8

The ants and the grasshopper live in peaceful harmony, until one day the grasshopper leaves to live out their dream of becoming a musician, meaning that the ants have to do twice the work around the colony. What will happen when the grasshopper returns?

Beauty and the Beast

The Trial of Goldilocks

The Three Bears are NOT happy about Goldilocks’ antics while they weren’t home. Who knows what will happen when they take her to trial.

Hansel & Gretel
Ages 6-8
July 7 – July 18
Join Hansel and Gretel as they make their way through the spooky forest and take on an evil witch!

Peter Pan
Ages 9-12
July 21 – August 1
Come join the Darling children, Peter Pan, and Tinkerbell as they fly off past the second star to the right and straight on to Neverland. (Please note this version is not based on the Disney Film and is not a musical.)

Create Your Own Superhero Adventure
Ages 12-15

In this camp, students will not only act in the show, but they’ll write it as well! This new camp format combines our standard Theatre in the Park camp with our scene writing camp. Students will work with their teachers to write a short script of their own creation focused on the theme of superheroes.

Fairytale Villain Support Group
Ages 12-15

Every story must have a hero, just as it must have a villain, but what if we’ve been told the wrong story all along? What if the villains aren’t as bad as we think they are? At the Fairytale Villain Support Group, the villains finally have a chance to share their side of the story.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears
Ages 6-8

Performs August 1 @ 6:30pm at PYT Studios
While the Bear family is enjoying a walk in the woods, Goldilocks stumbles upon their house and decides to take a look inside. What will the bears do when they find the little girl in their home?

The Three Little Pigs

The Three Little Pigs are ready to set off and seek their new fortunes, but what happens when the Big Bad Wolf gets in their way?

Thumbelina
Ages 9-12
July 7 – July 18
Tiny Thumbelina always felt different than those around her. When she hears about a group of fairies in the woods, she travels through the mysterious woods hoping to find them. Along the way, she meets lots of exciting characters such as marriage-minded toads, moles, and doodle bugs! Will Thumbelina find the fairies and have the life she’s always dreamed of?

The Tortoise and the Hare
Ages 6-8
July 21 – August 1
Everyone knows the Hare is the fastest animal in the forest — the Hare won’t let anyone forget it. Tired of watching the Hare torment the other animals, the Tortoise decides to challenge the Hare to a race. The Hare, believing that they’ll have a chance to humiliate the Tortoise, agrees. Will the Hare once again be victorious? Or will the Tortoise surprise everyone and beat the speedy Hare?

 

 

Cancellation & Transfer Policy

All cancellation or transfer requests must be made in writing to caitlyn@pytnet.org.

  • Before April 30th, 2025: No cancellation or transfer fees

  • After April 30th, 2025 BUT EARLIER than three weeks from the start date of your camp: Cancellation requests are subject to a $50 fee and transfer requests are subject to a $25 fee.

  • Fewer than three weeks before the start date of your camp: Transfer requests are subject to a $75 fee.

  • We cannot provide a refund for cancellations made less than three weeks before the start of your camp.
