Weekly classes where our youngest performers can work on their skills in a relaxed environment. Sessions run for six to eight weeks, and typically end with a little showcase for family and friends in our rehearsal studios. Learn how to act out a story, put music and dance together and even put together a little play!

Musical Theatre (song and dance):
Broadway Beginners – Disney! (Ages 4-6)
Young hoofers and singers learn to sing, dance and tell a story in the grand Disney-on-Broadway tradition. Students will learn how to isolate body movement and express character and emotion through physicality. On the last day of class, students will perform a choreographed Disney song for their friends and family.

Broadway Dreamers (Ages 7-9)
Students learn to sell a Broadway song through voice and movement, and have a lot of fun doing it! These young performers will learn some basic Broadway Dance terminology and steps and continue to develop their performance skills. Students will also be introduced to some basic vocal technique. Students will perform two choreographed songs for friends and family on the last day of class.

Broadway Dance (Ages 10-12)
In this class, older children will be challenged to develop their performance skills as they learn more advanced dance terminology and steps. Students will work on vocal technique and will be challenged to communicate character and emotion through their performance. On the final day of class, students will perform 2-3 songs for family and friends.

Amazing Acting Adventures (Ages 4-6)
In this exciting class, young actors will use their creativity and imaginations to go on a new adventure every class! Students will create their own simple puppets and develop their storytelling skills through acting exercises and games. Working with their instructors, these young actors will learn to create stories and settings that have never been seen before! Parents and friends are invited to join in the adventure on the final day of class as the students present their favorite creations.

Imagination Theatre (Ages 6-8)
Budding actors will begin to explore the basics of improvisation and how to use imagination to create scenes onstage. Students will learn to think quickly and make original characters come to life! On the final day of class, students will present a short improvised performance for family and friends.

Exploring Improv (Ages 9-11)
Budding improvisers will explore the basics of improvisation and improv games. They will learn the main tenants of successful improv and expand their improv game repertoire. Performers will be challenged to create unique characters distinctly different from themselves quickly, using voice, face, and body to communicate with the audience. Students will present a few of their favorite improv games for friends and family on the last day of class.

Improv and Sketch Comedy (Ages 12-18)
More advanced students will be challenged to develop and hone their improv skills. They will learn to make strong choices in improvised scenes, creating interesting and hilarious performances. Clear and specific character choices will be emphasized, and students will learn to communicate those choices through strong physicality and vocal inflection. Students will also try their hand at writing their own sketch comedy scenes and performing them. On the final day of class, students will perform a collection of improvised scenes and comedy sketches for family and friends.

Performing a Script:
Pint Size Players (Ages 6-8)
Junior Thespians will get to experience all of the things that go into putting on a real show! Students will work with their instructor to audition for and rehearse a short script, create their own sets and costumes, and prepare for their final performance on the last day of class. Friends and family are welcome to attend.

The Play’s the Thing (Ages 9-11)
Students will develop their acting, character development, and storytelling skills as they work together to produce a short play. Together with their director, actors will engage in acting exercises to hone their technique, utilize proper theatre terminology, and have a lot of fun rehearsing for the performance on the final day of class – family and friends are welcome to attend!

Studio Players (Ages 12-15)
In this class for more advanced actors, students will continue to hone their performance skills. Focusing particularly on creating strong and unique characters, students will be challenged to express their character(s) through clear physicality, animated facial expressions, and varied vocal inflection. They will work together with their director to prepare a play that will perform on the final day of class for family and friends.

Specialized focus for advanced actors:
In Harmony (Ages 13-18)
In this new vocal intensive, older students will work together to polish the vocal performance skills that are vital to becoming a versatile and flexible musical theatre performer! Students will work with a new piece of music each week that will challenge them to harmonize and blend with their classmates and become more familiar with sheet music and music theory. At the final performance on the last day of class, the group will perform three of the pieces they worked on for friends and family.

Awesome Auditions (Ages 8-11)
Whether you’re new to performing or have auditioned numerous times, this class will help you put together an audition that will let you shine! We’ll help you pick a monologue and song that makes the most of the limited time at an audition. Actors will work to develop a clear character in both their monologue and their song using physicality, facial expressions, and vocal inflection. On the final day of class, students will present their prepared material in a mock audition for a panel of local directors and vocal directors who will provide specific feedback.

Advanced Audition Technique (Ages 12-18)
Actors should have 10 – 15 audition monologues in their portfolio so they have the perfect piece for whatever they are auditioning for. This class will help you to expand your repertoire and perform with the confidence that comes from thorough preparation. With a focus on text analysis, strong physical choices, and development of a character that is uniquely different from one’s self, students will be challenged to make intentional and specific character choices that are tied to the text. On the final day of class, students will present their prepared material in a mock audition for a panel of local directors and vocal directors who will provide specific feedback.

Steppin’ Up (Ages 10-18)
In this exciting new class, students will work with their instructor to hone their dance audition skills. Each week, students will learn an audition dance from a different musical and focus on a helpful skill such as learning steps quickly, being super expressive while dancing, or how to fake it til you make it! Students will also learn some basic musical theatre dance skills that are likely to show up in audition combinations and learn what choreographers are looking for at auditions. On the final day of class, we’ll have a mock audition with some local choreographers who will provide feedback on each individual performance.
Wednesdays, 5:30 PM ‐ 6:30 PM Price: $215
Bring a bit of summer to your break by joining us for these fun camps! Campers will play drama games, make props, sets and costumes and put on a short play for family and friends at the end of the week. All participants should come dressed to move and bring a lunch and water bottle.
