PYT is hiring for Summer 2024!

CAMP TEACHING ARTIST

Peninsula Youth Theatre (PYT) seeks energetic and focused individuals to join our mission-driven education team for our summer theatre camps. Camp Teaching Artists are responsible for leading our camp activities in various theatrical topics.

Throughout all of PYT’s programs, campers work with their instructors and fellow actors to explore all aspects of the dramatic arts. Our award-winning “Theatre in the Park” programs offer opportunities for young thespians to create props, costumes, and sets for an outdoor performance on the final day of camp. Campers enjoy a mix of indoor and outdoor activities as they learn how to create interesting and exciting characters, project and enunciate, and put on a show. Campers also will have opportunities to learn about more specific types of storytelling, from improvisation to puppetry to music. Specific program descriptions, ages, dates, and locations may be found at https://pytnet.org/acting-classes-camps/summer-camp/.

Reporting to the Education Manager, Camp Teaching Artists will lead our 2-week “Theatre in the Park” programs, 1-week topical programs, and/or our 1-week mini camps. PYT’s camps serve children ages 5 to 15 and are hosted at multiple recreational sites in NW Santa Clara County.
